Introduction
The illusion of connection through social media is one of the greatest modern deceptions. True unity—grounded, powerful, and transformative—only happens through real contact, shared values, and word of mouth. At Lighthouse, we have been returning to this overlooked but vital way of connecting.
After being cancelled on X (formerly Twitter), we made a deliberate, prayerful decision to step away from all social media. Not as retreat—but as advance. We realised that what we needed wasn’t artificial reach, but real relationship. Social media offers the illusion of influence, while quietly stripping away genuine connection, warmth, and truth. We weren’t just deplatformed. We chose not to replatform. Because the kind of reach that matters—the kind that truly transforms—can’t be granted by algorithms. It must be lived, one relationship at a time.
1. Social Media Isn’t Real Connection
We’re told we’re more connected than ever. But are we? Followers, likes, and views aren’t connection. Access isn’t contact. Visibility isn’t unity. Posting isn’t participation. It’s a delusion—and it’s weakening us.
Many chase large followings, mistaking visibility for relationship, and reach for trust. But Dunbar’s number—150 meaningful relationships—still holds. Within that, the 80/20 rule applies: most of our meaningful connection comes from a small, trusted circle. Social media pushes us far beyond this natural limit, encouraging us to neglect the people right in front of us.
The result? Shallow relationships. A false sense of belonging. When crisis hits, digital metrics vanish into thin air. Influence without intimacy is not only an illusion—it’s a dangerous one.
2. True Connection Comes Through Active, Lived Relationships
At Lighthouse, we’re clear: unity is strength. Division breeds weakness. Tyranny doesn’t begin with censorship—it begins with fragmentation. When people are disconnected and communication is stunted, the powerful move in to dominate.
Despite all its promise, social media has made us less social as studies and social services can now prove in this area. It has kept us apart under the guise of bringing us together. It has eroded the very values that once held communities strong: warmth, fidelity, protection, and mutual accountability.
That’s why we left. Not just because we were cancelled, but because we saw clearly that real change doesn’t come from broadcast, but from brotherhood and sisterhood. From kinship. From person-to-person trust and courage. The reach we now pursue spreads because it’s real.
Paul, our Founder, grew up in a time when connection wasn’t a commodity—it was life. In South Africa, even under apartheid, communities had unity and resilience. Ironically, though forcibly separated, people were more connected than they are today in so-called “free” societies.
In Britain, rugged individualism has hollowed out that depth. We saw it starkly during lockdowns. Neighbours who had never met finally spoke—but only through glass. Why must it take catastrophe to remind us that we need each other?
From InterTrade to the circus community he joined at 18, Paul has spent decades building connection. In fact, the first documentary the BBC ever did on Paul, he was the subject of a broadcast of the circus community where he was a trapeze and high-wire artist! The BBC once praised that community—until it refused to conform. Then, they called it a “cult.” At Lighthouse, we’re building something rooted in one-degree separation: to one another, and to a living relationship with Christ.
3. This Is Not About Religion—It’s About Humanity
You don’t need to be Christian to be part of this. This is because we are Christians, and that means we are commanded to love our neighbour, to help them, to connect with them in order to care for them. There are things deeper than an academic kind of theology—things secular, familial, human—that call for unity. And you can’t love your neighbour if you don’t even know their name…!
So we are calling for this warmth of human spirit to rise again—not in abstract terms, but in real conversations, meals, gatherings, shared responsibilities, and mutual growth. It’s the same way that George Washington inspired a resource-stricken army to victory as a Founding Father of the United States, how Mahatma Gandhi brought the British Empire to its knees in India and what caused the Berlin Wall to be torn down by peaceful crowds seeking unity of a divided German nation.
For anyone seeking reform of corrupt government and manipulative media, we don’t need more followers, we need more fellowship.
We are not just saying “come join Lighthouse.” Quite the opposite. The last 4+ years have categorically shown us what happens when those who do not value human connection and community involve themselves with our work. We have seen the likes of Jeffrey Leigh-Jones, Rachel Jones, Jo Holmes, Richard Thomas and Simon Perreira betray the trust we invested in them based on their lies about themselves and their characters. We have been mocked, smeared and attacked for helping people to connect with themselves and others. These attacks have come from people who refuse to look at themselves and take responsibility for their lives, but feel entitled to break down those with the courage to examine themselves in order to grow and develop.
4. The Family: The First Unit of Society
Don’t join us—join your own family. Unite with them. Teach your children how to connect with themselves, with you and with anyone important in their lives… how to relate, how to build something that lasts.
Too many families are failing—not because of genetics, but because the principle of family has been lost. Some families are so dysfunctional they destroy their own, rather than nurture and support each other as the unique and sacred human beings they are. In these cases of neglect and/or abuse, people seeking human connection find surrogate families, sometimes through friends, churches or communities and inevitably destructive cults as well. But if these families or substitute families are healthy in and of themselves, they still do not answer the fundamental problem that unity ought to begin and be taught in the family home first and foremost.
This is the investigation that the BBC is too terrified to conduct… the real state of families that causes family members to seek the human connection, security, acceptance, wellbeing and validation they crave and have been tragically starved of, leading them to need to seek that elsewhere. Unfortunately, we know this all too well, where damage from families goes beyond a lack of connection, to actually being broken down by those family members. Many of the families of people at Lighthouse have severely broken them down, not least through abuse including sexual abuse. The fact of the matter is that some people do end up in sadistic cults because, in some cases, the lure of the attention given or even negative attention is better than none at all. It all stems from the family environment being the first outpost where connection needs to happen.
There’s good reason why the BBC will not look at the unfortunate reasons why people join healthy communities or even destructive cults. Meanwhile, we see the trend of the BBC choosing to protect child abusers whilst presenting themselves as paragons of virtue—as self-appointed protectors of the so-called ‘public interest’ that’s always in the interest of the British Elite first.
We are here to show a better way. To rebuild true community that leads and points to the family as it ought to be, as God designed it to be. To bring people together not just socially, but spiritually and practically—through shared goals, values, and action. We need the next generation to thrive as mature adults, truly prepared for life, capable of solving problems and able to face the unknown.
5. Let the Conversations & The Discourse Begin
We want to have these conversations out loud—and for that, we need people who will listen and speak with courage. Even now, there are open letters going out. Programs are forming. Families are being rebuilt. Not everyone will feel ready—but if you can’t connect yet, at least be willing to be reachable. Don’t disappear into isolation. Because when tyranny falls on your doorstep, you’ll wish you had a network that knew you by name and had your back.
This work takes time, energy, and resources. If you can support this work financially—even a little—it helps others who can’t. If you can contribute more, do so. But know that we’re investing every ounce of it into real programs that build connection, strength, leadership, and vision.
And yes, the BBC and the establishment are watching. There’s good reason they want to completely and utterly destroy us and our work through provably slanderous falsehoods as well as their propaganda by omission—leaving out key facts, evidence and context. They are terrified that their true colours will be revealed and we are revealing them to the globe.
The BBC are hanging on to the small hope that we will not gain reach in the millions simply by word of mouth. But we will. By the end of this year, we aim to be 10 million strong among Christians alone—and maybe 100 million others who care about truth, justice, and connection will begin to rise.
6. We’ve started something. Word of mouth is how it spreads.
Not through algorithms. Not through platforms designed to control. Through people. People who believe in the cause of what is principled, right, just and wholesome. Through people who have been attacked in their own right by the elites. Through you.
Join the conversation. Invite others to be part of something meaningful. Rebuild your family. Talk. Listen. Act. And if you want to help, reach out—we’re ready. This is about more than us. It’s about all of us. Let’s talk. Let’s build. Let’s reconnect.
“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” – Matthew 18:20
Pray with us...
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the gift of true connection and community.
Help us to seek relationships that are grounded in love, honesty, and mutual growth. Guide us away from shallow, artificial interactions and toward genuine fellowship that reflects Your heart.
Strengthen our families, restore our communities, and lead us to be vessels of unity and truth in a world longing for real connection.
In Christ’s Name.
Amen.

WE ARE ‘EXPOSING THE BRITISH BROADCASTING CULT’!
CAN YOU AFFORD TO TELL THE TRUTH?
The legacy media’s main aim isn’t to inform and educate you, it’s to control what you think, what you believe and how you feel. If you’re not aware of this and how susceptible you are to being subtly and perniciously influenced and programmed by them, then you’re more under their control and in their pocket than you even imagine. Want proof of this? Watch the following Introduction episode and prepare to be shocked.
Lighthouse Global are perfectly positioned to expose the BBC’s willingness to lie, deceive and manipulate and every aspect of their evil, wicked and immoral modus operandi and its threat to YOU the public.

This a brilliant, deeply moving and timely article, thank you. I agree and knowing that I came from a so-called family that focussed on competition and resorted to separation when there was rebellion against conformity.
This idea that we can connect intimately and fully through not just a screen, but through a persona we present to the world, is lunacy…and the kingdom of darkness loves that we are deluded and divided.
God is sovereign and He knew what needed to happen for us at Lighthouse to come back to what is needed in society and what is primary.
I pray for the restoration of the family unit as satan continues to attack it with abandon.
The underlying point here, I believe, is one of control.
Someone who understands these systems made a powerful observation: who has the most to gain from creating a VPN? The government — because they can monitor and identify who’s doing criminal or suspicious activity under the guise of privacy.
Similarly, with platforms like YouTube, some have tested the algorithm using children’s accounts and witnessed it pushing transgender content toward them. That speaks volumes.
Wherever the dominant powers are challenged and those voices are silenced or cancelled, that in itself says a lot.
What we’re told by mainstream media and government is not the full truth — it’s partial, and often shaped to serve specific interests.
The Gospel has reached billions of people over the course of the last 2,000 years. Social media has only had any form of reach in the last 10-15 years. Not only that, but social media has arguably caused far more harm than good… a quick look at the effects it’s had on our young people is all the proof that’s needed.
We don’t need social media, we need warm-blooded, heartfelt human connection. It is very telling that we’ve been falsely accused of being a cult, when community, family and meaningful relationships has always been core to our work at Lighthouse. We’ve been frowned upon for hugging in public when meeting in coffee shops.
I commonly see how disconnected families are in public and it’s tragic. If families were closer knit in the way we’d like to see then we’d see far less bullying, self-harm and suicides in young people. Ironically we’d also see less destructive cults. Why? Because when someone is getting what they need to face the challenges of life from their immediate family, friends and community, then why would they need to look elsewhere? The only reason would be to seek out opportunity to serve and protect the vulnerable, to build value to the extent they never have to say ‘no’ to help someone in need when they ought to say ‘yes’.
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones… compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another… And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. – Colossians 3:12-14
This is the kind of article I would have loved to have read years ago! It’s times like these when connection, real humanness, and community are so needed. In a world that gets darker by the day, we need lights—vessels, as you’ve shared—that reflect Christ’s light and His glory. May we be part of bringing His body together, by and in His decree. In Jesus’s name, Amen. God bless us all. 🙏🏼
