Ask the everyday, honest, hardworking person on the street whether they feel that the media and government institutions designed to serve them are genuinely acting in their best interests and the answer will almost exclusively be a resounding “no!”

For instance, if you find yourself being lied about in the legacy media, by vengeful individuals whose hatred is used to create sensationalised tabloid stories by vulture journalists seeking fame and adoration, what can you do? In the name of truth and justice, should you stand up to tyrannical abuse of power and institutional evil or should you hide in shame based on hearsay and slander?

At Lighthouse Global we have had to pioneer answers to this question following hearsay fiction stories in the Daily Mail and sensationalised slander in the BBC’s programme and podcast series, ‘A Very British Cult’. This is because every institution we thought was established to protect the truth has failed to do so. When we’ve presented truth, evidence, full context and reasoning to the likes of IPSO, Ofcom and ‘even’ the Secretary of State we have found provably slanderous falsehoods are being defended rather than the truth being upheld.

We don’t have the millions it would require to take a multi-billion media institution to court, so we have needed to take to the streets to hold the BBC and their journalists accountable to their institutional evil, AKA the BBC Savile Syndrome. As many individuals and groups have found, even protesting outside the BBC offices can be a tiresome and fruitless exercise because the legacy media won’t broadcast it!

Meanwhile, the BBC has broadcasted hundreds of provably slanderous lies about us into the homes of millions across the globe. So in light of this we went to an area where many media professionals reside to educate the local public on the dark truth tactics of their fame-seeking journalists.

And after all our efforts in pursuing every official channel over the course of the last 3+ years, what do we experience? We find ourselves being chased down a high street by a random member of the public shouting illogical and irrational nonsense. It’s a few days later that we discover (on Facebook) that this is in fact the local MP, Ms Stella Creasy! We then discover Ms Creasy is notorious for her anti-Christian stance and efforts to shut down their rights to peacefully protest and educate the public on matters that affect millions.

We duly reported Ms Creasy to the police and to Waltham Forest Council because Stella Creasy MP is elected to serve the British public, not her self-glorification. We believe that elected officials should hold themselves to higher standards of conduct as stated in the Nolan Principles and not act as if they are a law unto themselves. 

Waltham Forest Council wrote an anonymous reply to my complaint that was basically pretty indifferent to Ms Creasy’s behaviour: 

Dear Mr James Mills,

Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, we are unable to help with the issue you have reported.

Thank you for your correspondence regarding Anti-Social Behaviour and protests in the Town Square.

After we were made aware of the town centre event, we have been in contact with the Metropolitan Police to ensure there was a police presence to provide reassurance and prevent disturbances from all parties.

We will closely monitor any further protests alongside the police to ensure everyone is being kept safe and to avoid any undue distress to members of the public. The right to freedom of expression, including through protests, is protected in law and we will ensure that if any action taken by the Council it is legally justified and proportionate.

Therefore I wrote the following email to all leaders of Waltham Forest Council to ask for their personal assurance that our right to stand for truth will be protected and that legislation will not be weaponised against us as it has been to other Christians in the past.  

Dear Councillors of Waltham Forest,

I am writing on behalf of the Associates of Lighthouse Global to respectfully request Waltham Forest Council do their utmost to protect our human rights to peacefully protest as law-abiding citizens who are exercising our freedom of expression.

Our aim is to engage with the community of Walthamstow peacefully and lawfully, raising awareness about institutional evil where it is present in mainstream media organisations like the BBC and also in government agencies and departments. You can read the report of our latest visit earlier this week (Monday 11th November 2024).

Aim of Our Correspondence

Through this open letter that we will be publishing on davidvsgoliath.global we aim to achieve the following:

1. Request Waltham Forest Council to support us and the community of Walthamstow and protect our rights of peaceful assembly and freedom of expression, specifically under Articles 10 and 11 of the Human Rights Act 1998, which guarantees freedom of speech and protest.

    

2. To respond to the concerning harassment we have experienced from the Walthamstow MP, Stella Creasy, whose conduct toward us, both in-person and on social media has caused us to require police supervision during our lawful presence in Walthamstow. This is to ensure she does not abuse her position as a Member of Parliament and any legislative powers designed for genuinely anti-social behaviour. 

Context for This Open Letter

We were disheartened by Waltham Forest Council’s response to our complaint about Stella Creasy’s harassing behaviour as it came anonymously from a ‘no reply’ email address. Given our experience and of others seeking to engage local Walthamstow residents (particularly from a Christian worldview), we want to ensure that no legislative powers are abused for subjective purposes.

Our concerns are rooted in the principles of free expression and freedom of assembly. As Christians, we are committed to a peaceful, constructive dialogue with the community, yet we have found ourselves harassed by slanderous allegations based on hearsay. We have no intention of creating disorder; they are an exercise of our protected rights, intended solely to inform the public of the institutional evil that continues to endanger lives, livelihoods and reputations.

Protecting Free Speech and Christian Expression

As Scripture reminds us, “The truth will set you free” (John 8:32). Our right to proclaim truth, particularly in confronting what we see as institutional malpractices, should not be subject to suppression or retaliation. Our public presence in Walthamstow seeks to call attention to the abuse of power and to shed light on matters that require transparency for the public good.

Our objectives in Walthamstow are to:

1. Educate the public on institutional evil and our vulnerability to defamatory portrayals by journalists motivated more by career advancement than by truth.

    

2. Connect with local, conscientious, truth-seeking residents to identify community issues and work together to develop solutions.

    

3. Collaborate with local Christians and families who care about the safety and security of children online, at home and in public. 

Concerns Regarding MP Stella Creasy’s Conduct

We are concerned that Stella Creasy appears to view our public engagement as a threat. She will label any fact-based and evidence-based expression as “harassment” or “hate speech” or any opinion alternate to her own as a threat. That is extremely undemocratic and is an attack on truth. Ms Creasy’s reactive behaviour raises critical questions about the appropriate role of elected officials in facilitating, not stifling, free speech and peaceful protest. To condemn or attempt to silence views differing from her own is tyrannical and contrary to the democratic principles and values of British governance.

Request for Waltham Forest Council Support

In conclusion, we urge Waltham Forest Council to uphold the integrity of the freedom of expression, recognising our peaceful protest as protected by law. We are asking for your assurance that legislative powers will not be abused as they have been in the past.

Our intent remains to engage, inform, and work collaboratively within the community, not to cause disruption or unrest. We ask for your commitment to protecting our legal rights to protest and for assurances that peaceful demonstrations will be safeguarded from any undue intervention or influence. Can we get your commitment to that?
